Anne Marie Bourgeois is a visual artist, Children's book illustrator and art therapist whose work celebrates the life stories of everyday people and events which reflect themes around the universal resiliency of the human spirit. The characters in her paintings engage in dialogues with mystical forces, intrigue, joy and melancholy, drawing the observer into witnessing and revelling in stories as old as time.
As a Metis artist,  Anne Marie has been influenced by the collective historical aboriginal experience  and,  in her role as a child and family therapist, her work has been greatly inspired over the years by her clients’ stories as they explore the healing power of  art making.
