Sabiha Imran is an artist with interest, skills, and achievements in multiple facets of the Arts and Interior Design. She has experimented with new and challenging medium, including introducing miniatures on pewter.

The essence of Sabiha’s art is the variety of its expression.

She held her first solo exhibition featuring calligraphy and three-dimensional artwork in mixed media where Brian Musselwhite, Assistant Curator of the ROM's European department, opened the exhibit by highlighting Sabiha’s artistic diversity. Mr. Musselwhite, when viewing Sabiha’s calligraphy, quoted the 10th century philosopher, Abu Hayyan al-Tawhidi, saying “handwriting is jewellery fashioned by the hand from the pure gold of the intellect”. Mr. Musselwhite remarked on Sabiha’s work that “there is a lot more than meets the eye.”

More recently, Sabiha held yet another solo exhibition opened again by the Assistant Curator of the ROM's European department at the Visual Arts Mississauga art gallery. This exhibit mapped her personal growth both as an artist, and more importantly, as an individual. Her collection explored her understanding of spirituality via the age-old traditions of Islamic calligraphy. The contemporary segment of her artwork highlighted Sabiha’s cosmopolitan wisdom and a creatively transformative mind.

Sabiha has also been part of many joint exhibitions and juried shows. Her artwork has been exhibited in a variety of venues and has been displayed by both private collectors and public institutions in Canada. Her work has also been exhibited in the prestigious Roy Thomson Hall, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Living Arts Centre.

She is part of the ground breaking project, ‘The Quilt of Belonging’, which has been exhibited across Canada, including the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa.

A Bachelor of Commerce graduate, and an artist and interior designer by profession, Sabiha earned diplomas in Interior Decoration and Ikebana floral arrangements from various institutions in the United States. Courses from the University of Toronto in English Interior Design and Decorative Arts, and the Art of Appraising Antiques further enriched and broadened her horizons. Sabiha is a member of the Mississauga Arts Council, the Visual Arts Mississauga, and the Canadian Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Engravers.

Sabiha's artistic path has been extremely diverse and entrepreneurial. She is the owner and Creative Consultant of the interior decoration company, ‘The Finishing Touch’. The Toronto Star recognized her talents as an Interior Decorator and featured her in its Condo Living section.
