I am an emerging, self-taught artist from Fredericton, New Brunswick. Although I began drawing in elementary school, it wasn't until many years later that I realized painting was my true passion.
After high school, I spent almost 10 years in Western Canada. I lived in Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna and Vancouver. I use my past and present surroundings as well as my love of science to depict the world around me and the universe I admire.
I am inspired by the works of representational and abstract expressionist artists. Using acrylic and oil paint, I often choose vivid colours with bold brush strokes. I also enjoy the added texture of using a palette knife. Recently, I have been exploring the freedom of drip and pour techniques, allowing the paint to move with gentle guidance. I am currently working on larger pieces with greater depth, vividness and contrast.
Originally from Moncton, New Brunswick, I spent most of my childhood in Fredericton. I live with my family in New Maryland, New Brunswick.
