Kimberley Lillywhite is a Toronto based artist currently exhibiting in Canada. Her work questions life and the world we live in by deconstructing architecture, design and memory. Comparing architecture to society, the work reduces complex structures into their basic geometric components commenting on the fragility of life. The fragmented objects and multifaceted surfaces within her work represent the struggles and journeys of the mind, to find its place within our massive population. She investigates human desire and obsession by breaking down these states through shape and repetition. Paint, paper, charcoal and other media are used to create layers that play with ideas of actual and imagined space. Using mixed media she creates a parallel to our emergent multicultural society.
