My painting is largely inspired by the natural world and filtered through my inner landscape. A recent switch from acrylic to oil paint has pushed my work towards more abstraction and immediacy in the brushwork.  Colour, composition, texture and organic form are the structural elements of interest. I strive to balance this with allowing for intuitive mark making and a decidedly unstructured expression to emerge during the process.
